The Ironton Fighting Tigers football team (Ironton, OH), was knocked off 27-3 in Friday's non-league challenge with the visiting Ashland Blazer Tomcats (Ashland, KY)

The Tomcats (2-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Rowan County (Morehead, KY). The Vikings come into the 4A District 8 challenge with a 0-5 record. In their last challenge, Rowan County was knocked off by Grant County (Dry Ridge, KY), 20-0, in a non-league challenge.

The Fighting Tigers now sport a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they host South Point for a Ohio Valley challenge on Friday, September 23. Ironton will meet a Pointers team coming off a 40-0 league loss to Dawson-Bryant (Coal Grove, OH). The Pointers record now stands at 0-4.
