The Sun Valley Vanguards (Aston, PA) basketball nipped the host Archmere Academy Auks (Claymont, DE), 47-40 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Vanguards (2-6) will now prepare for their test against Interboro (Prospect Park, PA). The Buccaneers go into the non-league test with a 0-7 record.

The Auks now own a 2-5 record. They play next when they travel to Salesianum for a non-league test on Tuesday, January 3. Archmere Academy will encounter a Sallies squad coming off a 58-47 non-league loss to Bergen Catholic (Oradell, NJ). The Sallies record now stands at 4-2.
