Palo Verde Valley Yellowjackets (Blythe, CA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Southwest Eagles (El Centro, CA), 3-2 in a league challenge.

The Yellowjackets now sport a 22-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Imperial for a Imperial Valley challenge on Tuesday, May 4. Palo Verde Valley will face a Tigers squad coming off a 12-0 league loss to Brawley (Brawley, CA). The Tigers record now stands at 8-7.

With the loss, Southwest falls to 7-6 on the campaign. The Eagles host Holtville (Holtville, CA) to meet the Vikings in a Imperial Valley battle on Monday, May 17. The Vikings go into the battle with a record of 17-3.
