The Penney Hornets basketball team scored 72 points and held the visiting West Platte Bluejays to 52 in the Hornets league triumph on Tuesday.

The Hornets now sport a 18-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Trenton for a non-league contest on Thursday, February 18. Penney will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 60-57 non-league loss to Cameron (Cameron, MO). The Bulldogs record now stands at 13-9.

The Bluejays (6-13) will now prepare for their contest against University Academy Charter (Kansas City, MO). The Gryphons enter the non-league contest with a 7-12 record. In their last contest, University Academy Charter was defeated by Pembroke Hill (Kansas City, MO), 66-60, in a non-league contest.
