Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Sandy Valley Sidewinders (Sandy Valley, NV) and the host Death Valley Academy Scorpions (Shoshone, CA), saw Sandy Valley's basketball squad hold off Death Valley Academy by a score of 31-28.

With the victory, Sandy Valley improves its record to 1-8 on the campaign. The Sidewinders host Pahranagat Valley (Alamo, NV) to play the Panthers in a Southern 1A challenge on Friday, February 5. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 9-6.

Next up, the Scorpions play the Trona Tornadoes (Trona, CA) in a Hi-Lo challenge, on Tuesday, February 9. Death Valley Academy will attempt to improve on its 0-10 season record.
