The North Newton Spartans (Morocco, IN) basketball knocked off the visiting West Central Trojans (Francesville, IN), 55-36 in Friday's non-league test.

The Spartans (3-7) will now prepare for their test against Wheeler (Valparaiso, IN). The Bearcats go into the Greater South Shore test with a 4-5 record. In their last test, Wheeler went down by Hammond Bishop Noll (Hammond, IN), 59-43, in a league test.

The Trojans now own a 1-7 record. They play next when they host Triton for a non-league test on Saturday, January 9. West Central will battle a Trojans team coming off a 67-27 non-league win over Elkhart Christian Academy (Elkhart, IN). The Trojans record now stands at 6-4.
