April 13, 2011: Dolton, IL 60419 In Wednesday's league match, the Bradley-Bourbonnais Boilermakers (Bradley, IL) softball squad routed the host Thornridge Falcons (Dolton, IL), by a count of 20-1.
The Boilermakers now sport a 8-7 record. They play next when they host Lincoln-Way North for a SouthWest Suburban match on Monday, April 18.
With the loss, Thornridge moves to 0-3 on the season. The Falcons host Rich Central (Olympia Fields, IL) to meet the Olympians in a non-league match on Wednesday, April 20. The Olympians go into the match with a record of 0-8.
Game Summary
BBCHS took advantage of Thornridge's inability to throw strikes and jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 1st without getting a hit. The Boilers were able to adjust to the pitching and on 6 hits and a few Thornridge miscues scored 10 runs in the 2nd inning. Olivia Donley and Savanah Brinegar each had doubles to highlight the inning. Abbi Peters and Kelsey Shimanek each had 2 hits and 3 RBI's as the Boilermakers went on for a 20-1 victory. Danielle Schrempf pitched 3 scoreless innings to pick up the win.
