February 5, 2011: Lexington, NE 68850 The Lexington Minutemen basketball team (Lexington, NE), dropped 59-47 in Saturday's league battle with the visiting Aurora Huskies (Aurora, NE)
The Huskies now sport a 10-8 record. They play next when they travel to Crete for a non-league battle on Friday, February 11.
The Minutemen (4-16) will now prepare for their battle against Gering (Gering, NE). The Bulldogs come into the non-league battle with a 12-5 record. In their last battle, Gering beat Sidney (Sidney, NE), 54-47, in a league battle.
First Quarter
Lexington continued their season long shooting woes by hitting just two of 20 first period shots. After falling down 10 to one, Lexington did close the first quarter Aurora lead at 14 to six.
Second Quarter
Lexington fought back and got within three points at halftime as Aurora took a 27 to 24 lead to the locker room at half.
Third Quarter
Lexington scored the first five points in the third quarter and briefly took the lead away from Aurora. However another cold streak found its way into the Lexington basket and the Huskies regained the lead and went into the final frame with a 43 to 37 margin
Fourth Quarter
Aurora pulled away for a 12 point victory over the Minutemen 59 to 47 in Lexington Saturday night.
