Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the North Gaston Wildcats (Dallas, NC) and the visiting East Gaston Warriors (Mt. Holly, NC), saw North Gaston's basketball squad knock off East Gaston by a tally of 52-40.

With the victory, North Gaston improves its record to 10-3 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Crest (Shelby, NC) to play the Chargers in a Big South 3A challenge on Friday, January 11. The Chargers come into the challenge with a record of 1-8. Crest lost 51-50 in their recent league challenge against Huss (Gastonia, NC)

Next up, the Warriors play the Chase Trojans (Forest City, NC) in a Southwestern 2A challenge, on Friday, January 11. East Gaston will attempt to improve on its 6-6 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 3-9 record after their 64-19 non-league loss to Patton (Morganton, NC).
