Game Summary
Heartbreaker overtime loss for NFI after dominating the play for most of the game.
NFI and Housatonic played hard for two periods without any score from either team. Finally early in the 3rd period NFI #12 Austin Murphy was able to break the tie and scored on a well placed shot after a rebound bounced onto his stick in front of the net. Joe Gaudette #59 assisted on the goal.
Housatonic tied the game with under 5 minutes to go with a goal by #8 James Huften unassisted.
NFI pressured the entire 3rd period with several close scoring chances but the game ended in a tie 1 to 1.
In overtime Joe Gaudette made a great play to put himself into a position to score but the Housatonic goal tender made a miraculous save on a shot that everyone in attendance thought was in. Just seconds later Housatonic's #29 Dalton Jacquier scored the game winner from a well placed slap shot taken high in the slot.
