Louisiana High School Basketball - Independence tops Pope John Paul II
January 23, 2018: Slidell, LA 70461 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Independence Tigers (Independence, LA) and the host Pope John Paul II Jaguars (Slidell, LA), saw Independence's basketball squad knock off Pope John Paul II by a count of 60-43.
With the victory, Independence upgrades its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Tigers host Varnado (Angie, LA) to play the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 24. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 2-14. Varnado lost 63-35 in their recent non-league challenge against Independence (Independence, LA)
Next up, the Jaguars play the Amite Warriors (Amite, LA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 26. Pope John Paul II will attempt to upgrade on its 4-11 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 13-7 record after their 67-57 league loss to Northlake Christian (Covington, LA).
