Illinois High School Baseball - Columbia defeats Central
April 30, 2013: Columbia, IL 62236 Columbia Eagles (Columbia, IL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting Central Cougars (Breese, IL), 9-2 in a league test.
With the win, Columbia upgrades its record to 19-4 on the season. The Eagles travel to Windsor (Imperial, MO) to play the Owls in a non-league contest on Wednesday, May 1. The Owls enter the contest with a record of 15-8. Windsor won 12-7 in their recent non-league contest against Gibault Catholic (Waterloo, IL)
The Cougars now sport a 8-10 record. They take the field next when they travel to Carlyle for a Cahokia contest on Wednesday, May 1. Central will play a Indians squad coming off a 12-0 league win over Freeburg (Freeburg, IL). The Indians record now stands at 19-7.
