January 31, 2017: Athens, AL 35612 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Athens Golden Eagles (Athens, AL) and the visiting Cullman Bearcats (Cullman, AL), saw Athens's basketball squad overcome Cullman by a tally of 70-62.
With the victory, Athens improves its record to 10-14 on the campaign. The Golden Eagles travel to East Limestone (Athens, AL) to confront the Indians in a non-league challenge on Friday, February 3. The Indians come into the challenge with a record of 12-11. East Limestone lost 56-51 in their recent non-league challenge against Elkmont (Elkmont, AL)
Next up, the Bearcats confront the Hartselle Tigers (Hartselle, AL) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, February 2. Cullman will attempt to improve on its 8-15 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 15-6 record after their 72-53 non-league win over Lawrence County (Moulton, AL).
