Central Blue Devils (Newark, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Barringer Blue Bears (Newark, NJ), 71-40 in a league bout.

With the win, Central upgrades its record to 14-2 on the season. The Blue Devils host West Orange (West Orange, NJ) to play the Mountaineers in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 5. The Mountaineers go into the bout with a record of 5-11. West Orange lost 75-65 in their recent league bout against University (Newark, NJ)

Next up, the Blue Bears play the Seton Hall Prep Pirates (West Orange, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 5. Barringer will attempt to upgrade on its 12-4 season record. The Pirates go into the bout with a 16-2 record after their 62-55 league win over Columbia (Maplewood, NJ).
