Utah High School Basketball - Bingham thwarts Lehi
January 17, 2012: South Jordan, UT 84095 The Bingham Miners (South Jordan, UT) basketball felled the visiting Lehi Pioneers (Lehi, UT), 70-55 in Tuesday's league test.
The Miners (6-10) will now prepare for their test against Riverton (Riverton, UT). The Silverwolves go into the 5A Region 4 test with a 7-6 record. In their last test, Riverton went down by American Fork (American Fork, UT), 77-49, in a league test.
The Pioneers now own a 8-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pleasant Grove for a 5A Region 4 test on Friday, January 20. Lehi will clash with a Vikings squad coming off a 58-35 league loss to Lone Peak (Highland, UT). The Vikings record now stands at 3-8.
First Quarter
Bingham scored 13 points in the first quarter and Lehi scored 12. the score is 13 to 12 for Bingham to end the first period.
Second Quarter
Bingham hit 3 threes in the second quarter on the way to a 19 point quarter. Lehi only managed to score 9 points and Bingham takes a 11 point lead into half time. The score is Bingham 32 and lehi 21.
Third Quarter
Bingham increased the lead by 4 points in the third quarter and Lehi is down by 15 going into the final quarter.
Fourth Quarter
Colton Colledge scored 14 of the Lehi 20 fourth quarter points but Bingham also scored 20 in the quarter. Bingham wins by the final score of 70 to 55. Colton Colledge led all scorers with 29 points and added 10 rebounds in the loss for Lehi.
