Virginia High School Basketball - Fuqua nips Collegiate

February 9, 2016: Farmville, VA 23901

Fuqua Falcons (Farmville, VA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Collegiate Cougars (Richmond, VA), 47-40 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Fuqua upgrades its record to 10-5 on the campaign. The Falcons host Miller (Charlottesville, VA) to play the Mavericks in a Blue Ridge bout on Tuesday, February 16. The Mavericks come into the bout with a record of 13-11. Miller won 45-29 in their recent non-league bout against Liberty Christian (Lynchburg, VA)

Next up, the Cougars play the Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Saints (Suffolk, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 12. Collegiate will attempt to upgrade on its 4-13 season record. The Saints come into the bout with a 18-3 record after their 51-35 league win over Cape Henry Collegiate (Virginia Beach, VA).
