The Thunderbird Chiefs basketball team scored 79 points and restricted the visiting Verrado Vipers to 66 in the Chiefs non-league victory on Friday.

The Chiefs now sport a 5-5 record. They play next when they travel to Apollo for a 4A Western Sky contest on Tuesday, December 16. Thunderbird will meet a Hawks team coming off a 70-61 non-league loss to Cienega (Vail, AZ). The Hawks record now stands at 3-2.

The Vipers (5-5) will now prepare for their contest against Moon Valley (Phoenix, AZ). The Rockets come into the non-league contest with a 4-4 record. In their last contest, Moon Valley dropped by Cibola (Yuma, AZ), 69-51, in a non-league contest.
