The Velma Jackson Falcons basketball team scored 97 points and held the host Madison Central Jaguars to 56 in the Falcons non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Falcons now sport a 8-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Canton for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 3. Velma Jackson will meet a Tigers team coming off a 46-40 non-league win over Ridgeland (Ridgeland, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 5-2.

The Jaguars (4-3) will now prepare for their contest against Northwest Rankin (Brandon, MS). The Cougars enter the 6A Region 4 bout with a 3-8 record. In their last bout, Northwest Rankin was crushed by Pearl (Pearl, MS), 51-35, in a non-league bout.
