In Friday's league match, the visiting Cranston East Thunderbolts football squad scored a close 51-47 victory over the Portsmouth Patriots.

In their next game, the Thunderbolts clash with the La Salle Academy Rams (Providence, RI) in a Division I test, on Friday, November 2. Cranston East will attempt to improve on its 7-1 season record. The Rams come into the test with a 6-1 record after their 41-17 league win over Barrington (Barrington, RI).

With the loss, Portsmouth drops to 6-2 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to East Providence (East Providence, RI) to battle the Townies in a Division I test on Friday, November 2.
