Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Liberty prevails Stroudsburg
January 2, 2009: Liberty, PA 16930 Liberty (Liberty, PA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Stroudsburg Mountaineers (Stroudsburg, PA), 66-58 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Liberty upgrades its record to 1-4 on the season. The host Wellsboro (Wellsboro, PA) to encounter the Hornets in a Northern Tier - Western bout on Saturday, January 3. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 5-3. Wellsboro lost 64-49 in their recent non-league bout against Troy (Troy, PA)
Next up, the Mountaineers encounter the Allen Canaries (Allentown, PA) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 3. Stroudsburg will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Canaries go into the bout with a 6-2 record after their 44-43 non-league loss to Princeton (Princeton, NJ).
