Texas High School Basketball - Tascosa nips Cooper
January 4, 2011: Amarillo, TX 79102 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Tascosa Rebels (Amarillo, TX) and the visiting Cooper Pirates (Lubbock, TX), saw Tascosa's basketball squad hold off Cooper by a score of 55-50.
With the victory, Tascosa improves its record to 7-9 on the campaign. The Rebels host Lubbock (Lubbock, TX) to battle the Westerners in a 5A Region I District 2 challenge on Friday, January 7. The Westerners come into the challenge with a record of 5-15.
Next up, the Pirates battle the Brownfield Cubs (Brownfield, TX) in a 3A Region I District 2 challenge, on Friday, January 7. Cooper will attempt to improve on its 14-6 season record. The Cubs come into the challenge with a 2-12 record after their 53-27 non-league loss to Snyder (Snyder, TX).
