Virginia High School Basketball - Wakefield fells Annandale
December 29, 2008: Arlington, VA 22206 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Wakefield Warriors (Arlington, VA) and the visiting Annandale Atoms (Annandale, VA), saw Wakefield's basketball squad overcome Annandale by a count of 87-78.
With the victory, Wakefield upgrades its record to 11-5 on the campaign. The Warriors host Yorktown (Arlington, VA) to play the Patriots in a AAA National challenge on Tuesday, January 6. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 3-5. Yorktown lost 64-49 in their recent non-league challenge against McKinley Tech (Washington, DC)
Next up, the Atoms play the South County Stallions (Lorton, VA) in a AAA Patriot challenge, on Tuesday, January 6. Annandale will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Stallions come into the challenge with a 1-8 record after their 78-56 non-league loss to Landon (Bethesda, MD).
