The Metter Tigers basketball team scored 49 points and held the host Portal Panthers to 28 in the Tigers non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Tigers now sport a 12-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host St. Vincent's for a AA Region 2 contest on Tuesday, January 24. Metter will meet a Saints team coming off a 63-46 league loss to Vidalia (Vidalia, GA). The Saints record now stands at 10-10.

The Panthers (4-15) will now prepare for their contest against Savannah Country Day (Savannah, GA). The Hornets enter the A Region 3 contest with a 9-11 record. In their last contest, Savannah Country Day was routed by Johnson County (Wrightsville, GA), 37-35, in a league contest.
