Indiana High School Volleyball - Lawrenceburg over Batesville
September 1, 2015: Lawrenceburg, IN 47025 Lawrenceburg Tigers (Lawrenceburg, IN) supporters left the game in high spirits Tuesday as they observed their volleyball squad top the visiting Batesville Bulldogs (Batesville, IN), 3-0 in a league match.
Next up, the Tigers battle the East Central Trojans (St. Leon, IN) in a Eastern Indiana match, on Thursday, September 3. Lawrenceburg will attempt to advance on its 9-0 season record. The Trojans come into the match with a 7-5 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Oldenburg Academy (Oldenburg, IN).
With the loss, Batesville drops to 2-4 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Rushville (Rushville, IN) to battle the Lions in a Eastern Indiana match on Tuesday, September 8. The Lions come into the match with a record of 3-2.
Match Summary
Youth and confidence fail as momentum builds into set three....
We really were not playing bad but we got into a stretch of five consecutive bad points in the top of the first set and the same in the bottom of set two. Set three just started bad and got worse from there. In our streaks of good points we did see glimmers of what is to come. When we passed and could make good in system choices we were able to advance the ball for points in convincing fashion. The game will open up for these young ladies once they can relax and instead of going thru trained motions, see the other side of the net and react.
