The Newton Railroaders ran past the visiting Valley Center Hornets basketball team by a final score of 51-40 in Tuesday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Railroaders face the Maize Eagles (Maize, KS) in a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail I game, on Friday, December 16. Newton will attempt to move on its 4-0 season record. The Eagles enter the game with a 4-0 record after their 51-16 league win over Haysville Campus (Wichita, KS).
