Mandeville Skippers (Mandeville, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Covington Lions (Covington, LA), 62-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Mandeville upgrades its record to 11-1 on the season. The Skippers travel to Mt. Carmel (New Orleans, LA) to encounter the Cubs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 21. The Cubs go into the bout with a record of 5-7. Mt. Carmel lost 55-41 in their recent non-league bout against Curtis (River Ridge, LA)

Next up, the Lions encounter the Fontainebleau Bulldogs (Mandeville, LA) in a 5A District 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 11. Covington will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record.
