The Pittston Patriots football team (Pittston, PA), was beaten 34-7 in Friday's non-league challenge with the visiting Valley View Cougars (Archbald, PA)

The Cougars (2-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Lakeland (Jermyn, PA). The Chiefs come into the non-league challenge with a 1-1 record. In their last challenge, Lakeland was beaten by Old Forge (Old Forge, PA), 27-24, in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now sport a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Wyoming Valley West for a Wyoming Valley 1 challenge on Friday, September 18. Pittston will meet a Spartans team coming off a 30-6 non-league win over Delaware Valley (Milford, PA). The Spartans record now stands at 2-0.
