California High School Baseball - Point Loma defeats Mission Bay
March 23, 2009: San Diego, CA 92109 Spectators at Monday's non-league battle between the Point Loma Pointers (San Diego, CA) and the host Mission Bay Buccaneers (San Diego, CA), saw Point Loma's baseball squad knock off Mission Bay by a count of 10-5.
Coming up next, the Pointers play the Henry Patriots (San Diego, CA) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, March 26. Point Loma will attempt to move on its 5-1 season record. The Patriots enter the battle with a 2-4 record after their 5-2 non-league loss to Mission Bay (San Diego, CA).

Game Summary
Point Loma puts another game in the win column. Sophomore Kellen Urbon started on the mound for the Pointers while the rest of the team backed him up with an errorless defense and great at-bats. Mission Bay struggled on the mound hitting 3 of our players a total of 5 times and walking another 5 batters. The Pointers got 6 of those free passes while capitalizing on a six run 2nd inning. While Mission Bay ended up with more hits than PL they weren’t able to string enough together to do much damage. Zach Hile came in late in the 6th inning and closed out the game retiring 3 of the 6 batters he faced with strike outs. Coleman Cox, Kevin Hilton and Ridge Deakman each added another multi-hit game to their season.
