Virginia High School Basketball - Western Branch tipped by Mount Vernon

In Saturday's non-league match, the visiting Mount Vernon Majors basketball team scored a tight 58-56 triumph over the Western Branch Bruins.

In their next game, the Majors confront the Oakton Cougars (Vienna, VA) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, December 6. Mount Vernon will attempt to better on its 2-0 season record. The Cougars enter the match with a 3-0 record after their 81-18 non-league win over Lee (Springfield, VA).

With the defeat, Western Branch moves to 1-1 on the year. The Bruins travel to Indian River (Chesapeake, VA) to play the Braves in a AAA Southeastern challenge on Tuesday, December 6. The Braves come into the challenge with a record of 1-0. Indian River won 56-47 in their recent league challenge against Great Bridge (Chesapeake, VA)
