April 29, 2016: Fallston, MD 21047 The Fallston Cougars got by the visiting Harford Tech Cobras baseball team by a count of 5-4 in Friday's league bout.
The Cougars now possess a 9-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Havre de Grace for a non-league bout on Monday, May 2. Fallston will face a Warriors team coming off a 11-7 league loss to Joppatowne (Joppa, MD). The Warriors record now stands at 4-14.
Next, the Cobras face the Aberdeen Eagles (Aberdeen, MD) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, May 4. Harford Tech will attempt to move on its 5-11 season record.
Game Summary
Fallston beat Harford Tech 5-4 Friday afternoon on a walk off single from Brett Sperl in the bottom of the 7th. Teams traded single runs early on and headed to the bottom of the 6th tied at 3. Noah Hagenston lead off with a single, Bryce Logan walked and Sperl singled to load the bases with no outs. After a pop up Kyle Hoover hit a sacrifice fly to put the Cougars on top. The Cobras rallied in the 7th to tie things on a single from Blake Melchior, his third hit of the game. In the bottom of the 7th Everett Cox reached on an error with 1 out and Ryan Tarrant singled to put two men on. With two outs Logan walked to load the bases for Sperl. He came through with a single through the left side to walk off for the Cougars. Hagenston finished 2 for 4 with a double and 2 runs scored. Sperl and Loewe also had two hits for Fallston. Sean Harris picked up the win in relief after coming in and shutting down the Cobras in the top of the 7th. The win improved the Cougars to 9-6 overall and 8-6 in
