The Basalt Longhorns (Basalt, CO) basketball nipped the host Aspen Skiers (Aspen, CO), 49-45 in Saturday's league test.

The Longhorns (2-2) will now prepare for their test against Grand Valley (Parachute, CO). The Cardinals go into the 3A Western Slope test with a 5-0 record. In their last test, Grand Valley got by Gunnison (Gunnison, CO), 44-31, in a league test.

The Skiers now own a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Olathe for a 3A Western Slope test on Friday, January 8.
