Summit Hilltoppers (Summit, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad nip the visiting Cranford Cougars (Cranford, NJ), 48-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Summit upgrades its record to 1-8 on the season. The Hilltoppers travel to Rahway (Rahway, NJ) to play the Indians in a non-league game on Friday, January 20. The Indians enter the game with a record of 9-2. Rahway lost 69-63 in their recent league game against Union Catholic (Scotch Plains, NJ)

With the defeat, Cranford moves to 4-5 on the year. The Cougars travel to St. Mary-Assumption (Elizabeth, NJ) to face the Hilltoppers in a Mountain Valley - Mountain game on Friday, January 20. The Hilltoppers enter the game with a record of 2-5. St. Mary-Assumption lost 52-44 in their recent league game against Governor Livingston (Berkeley Heights, NJ)
