The Southwest Roughriders ran past the host Elwood Pirates basketball team by a final score of 59-40 in Thursday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Roughriders face the Hitchcock County Falcons (Trenton, NE) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, January 3. Southwest will attempt to move on its 4-3 season record. The Falcons enter the game with a 3-5 record after their 65-48 non-league win over Brady (Brady, NE).
