Florida High School Basketball - Osceola falls to Lakewood
November 29, 2012: St. Petersburg, FL 33705 The Lakewood Spartans basketball team scored 77 points and held the visiting Osceola Warriors to 65 in the Spartans league triumph on Thursday.
The Spartans now sport a 3-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Clearwater for a non-league contest on Saturday, December 1. Lakewood will meet a Tornadoes team coming off a 79-57 non-league win over East Lake (Tarpon Springs, FL). The Tornadoes record now stands at 3-0.
The Warriors (1-3) will now prepare for their contest against Largo (Largo, FL). The Packers enter the 6A District 12 contest with a 1-1 record.
Third Quarter
The Warriors made a furious comeback in the 3rd quarter after falling behind by as many as 12 points. Long range shooting from Chase Ridenour and Tavaris Williams along with drives to the basket by Freeman Hinson had cut the lead from as much as 12 points behind to only 2 points behind at 49-47. The Spartans of Lakewood went on an 8-0 to end the quarter and never looked back
