In Saturday's league battle, the host Blue Ridge Barons soccer squad scored a close 3-0 win over the Virginia Episcopal School Bishops.

The Barons (8-3) will now prepare for their battle against Eastern Mennonite (Harrisonburg, VA). The go into the non-league battle with a 9-9 record. In their last battle, Eastern Mennonite by Liberty Christian (Lynchburg, VA), 2-1, in a league battle.

The Bishops failed to capitalize on their early success in the Blue Ridge defensive third of the field by failing to gind the goal despite out shooting the Barons 12-5 in the first half. Blue Ridge capitalized on a defensive mistake to grab a 1-0 lead at the half. The Barons added two more goals in the second half including a penalty kick with just over five minutes to play in the game. The Bishops gave a valiant effort but for the third consecutive game were unable to put one in the back of the net.
