Governor's Academy Governors (Byfield, MA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad overcome the visiting Groton School (Groton, MA), 56-36 in a league bout.

With the victory, Governor's Academy upgrades its record to 5-5 on the campaign. The Governors travel to Cushing Academy (Ashburnham, MA) to play the Penguins in a non-league bout on Friday, January 27. The Penguins come into the bout with a record of 5-4. Cushing Academy lost 58-42 in their recent league bout against Pomfret School (Pomfret, CT)

Next up, the play the Thayer Academy Tigers (Braintree, MA) in a Independent School bout, on Wednesday, January 25. Groton School will attempt to upgrade on its 0-10 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 5-4 record after their 42-39 non-league win over Phillips Academy (Andover, MA).
