Destrehan Wildcats (Destrehan, LA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Sulphur Golden Tors (Sulphur, LA), 9-8 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now sport a 14-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hahnville for a 5A District 7 challenge on Tuesday, March 20. Destrehan will face a Tigers squad coming off a 8-2 non-league win over Airline (Bossier City, LA). The Tigers record now stands at 14-2.

With the loss, Sulphur falls to 7-9 on the campaign. The Golden tors travel to Acadiana (Lafayette, LA) to face the Rams in a 5A District 3 challenge on Tuesday, March 27. The Rams enter the challenge with a record of 12-7.
