Lincoln East Spartans (Lincoln, NE) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Grand Island Islanders (Grand Island, NE), 49-41 in a league bout.

With the win, Lincoln East upgrades its record to 4-1 on the season. The Spartans travel to Omaha Westside (Omaha, NE) to clash with the Warriors in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 15. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 3-2. Omaha Westside lost 47-46 in their recent league bout against Millard West (Omaha, NE)

Next up, the Islanders clash with the Kearney Bearcats (Kearney, NE) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 15. Grand Island will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Bearcats go into the bout with a 1-3 record after their 66-58 league loss to Fremont (Fremont, NE).
