Ohio High School Baseball - Dixie loses to Carlisle
April 25, 2012: Carlisle, OH 45005 The Dixie Greyhounds baseball team (New Lebanon, OH), was overwhelmed 6-1 in Wednesday's league outing with the host Carlisle Indians (Carlisle, OH)
The Indians now hold a 20-2 record. They take the field next when they host Valley View for a non-league outing on Saturday, April 28. Carlisle will face a Spartans team coming off a 12-9 non-league win over Chaminade-Julienne (Dayton, OH). The Spartans record now stands at 9-4.
Next, the Greyhounds face the Waynesville Spartans (Waynesville, OH) in a Southwestern Buckeye - Buckeye outing, on Friday, April 27. Dixie will attempt to advance on its 9-10 season record. The Spartans enter the outing with a 12-8 record after their 5-2 league loss to Madison Senior (Middletown, OH).
Game Summary
The Greyhounds played a pretty good game but struggled to get runners on base in a 6-1 loss to the Indians at Carlisle tonight. Jacbob Campbell, Greg Leonard, and Travis Wright had the only hits. Travis had the lone RBI scoring Christian Evans from second on a single to right.
Next game is in Waynesville under the lights against the Spartans. The JV's play at 5 followed by the varsity's. First pitch will be around 7:30.
