Kansas High School Basketball - Heights trounces Northwest
January 10, 2009: Wichita, KS 67212 The Heights Falcons (Wichita, KS) basketball crushed the host Northwest Grizzlies (Wichita, KS), 60-38 in Saturday's league test.
The Falcons (7-0) will now prepare for their test against Carroll (Wichita, KS). The Golden Eagles go into the Greater Wichita City test with a 4-3 record. In their last test, Carroll walloped West (Wichita, KS), 53-35, in a league test.
The Grizzlies now own a 2-6 record. They take the field next when they host Southeast for a Greater Wichita City test on Friday, January 16.
First Quarter
#1 ranked Heights looked a little sluggish playing on consectutive nights. The Falcons were limited to 10 points in the first quarter. Heights played solid defense and led 10-8 after quarter one.
Second Quarter
Heights began heating up from behing the 3 point line. Austin Bahner made 2 and Dorrian Roberts made 1 as heights extended its lead to 9 at half.
Third Quarter
Dorrian Roberts made 3 3 balls and the falcons extended the lead to 12 points.
Fourth Quarter
Dorrian Roberts finished with a game high 24 points including 6 3 pointers. Freshman Perry Ellis earned his 6th consecutive double double with 12 points and 15 rebounds. Number 1 Heights earns its 7th straight victory 60-38.
