Hilliard Red Flashes (Hilliard, FL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting The Villages Charter Buffalo (The Villages, FL), 39-35 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Hilliard upgrades its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Red Flashes host Trinity Christian (Jacksonville, FL) to play the Conquerors in a 2A District 6 bout on Thursday, December 30. The Conquerors come into the bout with a record of 7-6. Trinity Christian won 54-44 in their recent non-league bout against Lakeland Christian (Lakeland, FL)

Next up, the Buffalo play the Meadowbrook Academy Mustangs (Ocala, FL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 28. The Villages Charter will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record.
