Louisiana High School Basketball - Grand Isle overwhelms Phoenix
February 3, 2017: Grand Isle, LA 70358 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Grand Isle Trojans (Grand Isle, LA) and the visiting Phoenix Spartans (Braithwaite, LA), saw Grand Isle's basketball squad wallop Phoenix by a tally of 54-29.
With the victory, Grand Isle improves its record to 17-7 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Lutheran (Metairie, LA) to confront the Gryphons in a C District 9 challenge on Tuesday, February 7. The Gryphons come into the challenge with a record of 2-16. Lutheran lost 68-58 in their recent league challenge against Bishop McManus (New Orleans, LA)
Next up, the Spartans confront the Maurepas Wolves (Maurepas, LA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, February 6. Phoenix will attempt to improve on its 12-13 season record. The Wolves come into the challenge with a 5-17 record after their 62-49 league win over Louisiana School for the Deaf (Baton Rouge, LA).
