Texas High School Basketball - Parkland nips Eastwood

Parkland Matadors (El Paso, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Eastwood Troopers (El Paso, TX), 48-42 in a league bout.

With the victory, Parkland upgrades its record to 20-2 on the campaign. The Matadors host Ysleta (El Paso, TX) to play the Indians in a 5A Region I District 2 bout on Tuesday, January 15. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 6-15. Ysleta lost 55-51 in their recent league bout against El Dorado (El Paso, TX)

Next up, the Troopers play the Horizon Scorpions (El Paso, TX) in a 5A Region I District 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 15. Eastwood will attempt to advance on its 15-9 season record. The Scorpions go into the test with a 8-11 record after their 61-52 league win over Riverside (El Paso, TX).
