Nevada High School Basketball - Canyon Springs holds off Desert Pines
January 27, 2010: North Las Vegas, NV 89032 Canyon Springs Pioneers (North Las Vegas, NV) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Desert Pines Jaguars (Las Vegas, NV), 58-57 in a league bout.
With the victory, Canyon Springs upgrades its record to 13-10 on the campaign. The Pioneers travel to Eldorado (Las Vegas, NV) to play the Sundevils in a Sunrise - Northeast bout on Thursday, January 28. The Sundevils come into the bout with a record of 2-10. Eldorado lost 60-38 in their recent league bout against Las Vegas (Las Vegas, NV)
Next up, the Jaguars play the Valley Vikings (Las Vegas, NV) in a Sunrise - Northeast bout, on Thursday, January 28. Desert Pines will attempt to upgrade on its 11-11 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 7-10 record after their 50-29 league win over Rancho (Las Vegas, NV).
Fourth Quarter
The Lady Pioneers dominated the Lady Jagars in the 4th quarter. Diamond grabbing and missing a offensive rebound but teammate Kenosha Wright had her back grabbing the missed basketball and getting fouled in the process. Put her on the line for two free throws with 6.3 secs on the clock with a chance to gain the lead. 58-57.
