Arizona High School Baseball - North loses to Casa Grande
March 12, 2013: Casa Grande, AZ 85222 In Tuesday's non-league game, the host Casa Grande Cougars baseball team scored a nice 14-4 victory over the North Mustangs.
The Cougars (5-5) will now prepare for their game against Valley Christian (Chandler, AZ). The Trojans go into the non-league game with a 5-1 record. In their last game, Valley Christian was overwhelmed by Agua Fria (Avondale, AZ), 13-11, in a non-league game.
The Mustangs (5-7) will now prepare for their game against Valley Vista (Surprise, AZ). The Monsoon go into the non-league game with a 7-1 record. In their last game, Valley Vista ran past Casa Grande (Casa Grande, AZ), 11-0, in a non-league game.
Game Summary
Jose Vazquez hit a grand slam and pitched a complete game as Casa Grande Union run-ruled North on Tuesday, 14-4 in five innings at Campo Verde High School.
Vazquez had five RBIs and three hits for the Cougars (5-5-1). Cooper Esmay went 4 for 4 with four doubles and two RBIs, Javier Otero drove in two runs and Bryan Martinez had two hits. CG Union finished with 15 hits, including eight doubles and the home run by Vazquez.
Isaac Davis and Martinez both had two-run doubles in Monday night’s 8-4 victory over Agua Fria. Davis, Martinez, Esmay and Nick Elliott each had two of CG Union’s nine hits. Esmay pitched 62/3 innings to notch the win, and Elliott came on to get the final two outs.
