Kentucky High School Football - Somerset topples Garrard County
October 9, 2009: Somerset, KY 42501 The Somerset Briar Jumpers (Somerset, KY) football defeated the visiting Garrard County Golden Lions (Lancaster, KY), 34-20 in Friday's league bout.
In their next game, the Briar Jumpers face the Wayne County Cardinals (Monticello, KY) in a 3A District 5 bout, on Friday, October 16. Somerset will attempt to advance on its 8-0 season record. The Cardinals enter the bout with a 2-5 record after their 41-12 league win over Jackson County (McKee, KY).
The Golden Lions (3-4) will now prepare for their bout against Taylor County (Campbellsville, KY). The Cardinals enter the 3A District 5 bout with a 3-5 record. In their last bout, Taylor County defeated Casey County (Liberty, KY), 22-21, in a league bout.
