Maryland High School Baseball - Atholton nips Wilde Lake
April 17, 2015: Columbia, MD 21044 Atholton Raiders (Columbia, MD) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the host Wilde Lake Wildecats (Columbia, MD), 9-8 in a league test.
With the win, Atholton upgrades its record to 5-5 on the season. The Raiders host Centennial (Ellicott City, MD) to battle the Eagles in a Howard County test on Monday, April 20. The Eagles come into the test with a record of 1-5. Centennial lost 3-1 in their recent league test against Glenelg (Glenelg, MD)
With the defeat, Wilde Lake falls to 5-7 on the season. The Wildecats travel to Long Reach (Columbia, MD) to clash with the Lightning in a Howard County game on Monday, April 20. Game Summary
The Raiders won a slugfest over Wilde Lake by a score of 9-8 as both teams combined for 26 hits of which many went for extra bases. The Raiders rallied from 7-4 down after 4 innings with 3 in the 5th and one in the 7th after two out and none on to win. Nick Raulin pitched an outstanding three innings of relief striking out 4 and only giving up one run.
