North Carolina High School Football - Draughn topped by Patton

The Draughn Wildcats football team (Valdese, NC), was beaten 24-7 in Friday's non-league challenge with the visiting Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC)

The Panthers (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC). The Eagles come into the non-league challenge with a 2-1 record. In their last challenge, Wilkes Central was beaten by Surry Central (Dobson, NC), 28-27, in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now sport a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they host Crest for a South Mountain Athletic 2A/3A challenge on Friday, September 9. Draughn will meet a Chargers team coming off a 14-7 non-league win over Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC). The Chargers record now stands at 1-1.
