Wyoming Valley West Spartans (Plymouth, PA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Riverside Vikings (Taylor, PA), 76-71 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Wyoming Valley West upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Spartans host Abington Heights (Clarks Summit, PA) to play the Comets in a non-league bout on Monday, December 11. The Comets go into the bout with a record of 1-0.

Next up, the Vikings play the Honesdale Hornets (Honesdale, PA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 15. Riverside will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record. The Hornets enter the game with a 1-1 record after their 50-39 non-league win over Carbondale Area (Carbondale, PA).
