The Blackhawk Cougars basketball team scored 59 points and held the host Salem Golden Lions to 48 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Cougars now sport a 9-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Beaver for a non-league contest on Friday, January 16. Blackhawk will meet a Bobcats team coming off a 59-37 non-league win over Deer Lakes (Russellton, PA). The Bobcats record now stands at 4-10.

The Golden Lions (11-3) will now prepare for their contest against Indiana (Indiana, PA). The Little Indians enter the WPIAL AAA 3 contest with a 9-5 record. In their last contest, Indiana ran past Kiski (Saltsburg, PA), 65-51, in a non-league contest.
